Santa Fe Sunset |
Welcome to my blog! I love Santa Fe and the style associated with this place. I love the history of the area and its rich culture, I love the landscape and the light. Most of all I love the inherent creativity that being here inspires in me.
I grew up in a family of artists, my dad, his two brothers, my grandad and his brother, my great-grandfather all had a love of painting pictures and other avenues of creative expression. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and was originally drawn to Santa Fe in the early 80's precisely because of its artistic tradition.

Santa Fe Light on Tierra Concepts Home |
Another long standing theme for me is of being self-employed. I had my first newspaper route around the age of thirteen and was in charge of two routes most of the way through high school. I have been a freelance graphic designer, videographer, cabinetmaker and remodeler. My brother, Eric, moved to Santa Fe in 1988 and we started a construction company together. In 1993 we joined with Keith Gorges to form Tierra Concepts. We bought Taos Furniture in 2000 and bought Southwest Spanish Craftsmen in 2009. Our goal has always been to follow our creative hearts with excellence in our craftsmanship and integrity in our relationships.
My plan is to write about the things I know and love, gather some informative tidbits and maybe provide a little amusement along the way. Hopefully this will be interesting or useful to some of you out there.
My best to all,
Kurt Faust
